About

fmvstory_featuredWelcome to the FMV Story. A website dedicated to the magic and wonders of Full Motion Video (FMV) in video games. FMV is an almost forgotten technique that was prominent in early 1990ties. It is considered obscure and crappy time within the whole gaming history. I believe there is more to it than this little footnote.

Over the last 6 months, I have tried to put together as many FMV games as possible. To my knowledge, there have been over 800 titles that used this technique and I would like to go over every single one. I was humbled by the amount of work and dedication creators put into the making of these games and I hope to reflect it on this website.

There are few FMV sites, but most of them do not go into too much detail or are focused on well-known titles. My aim to is to get for each game at least something new or interesting. Whether it is unreleased footage, forgotten ads, interesting clips or stories about creators of these games.

Eventually, I dream to gather enough interesting content to release it as a book. However, that will probably happen much further down the line. I hope you will have as much fun reading this web as I had while discovering forgotten FMV games.

P.S. – I am not native English speaker, so I apologise in advance for certain level of “all your base are belong to us” syndrome.
